課程概述

One motivation behind oceanographic research can be associated with providing an improved understanding of the impacts of climate change. What are some of the recent citations that present evidence of climate change impacts in the oceans? This is a broadly scoping, short discussion (1 cr) course that will cover some of the most recent evidence of climate change impacts in the oceans. The intention of the course is to pull out some of the most recent high-impact papers from the literature so that we can understand and summarize the latest findings together. For instance, perhaps you’d like to include a sentence about one (or more) of the latest climate change impacts in your own research writing or scientific communication; this course can be a one-stop shop that provides some of the latest scientific citations about climate change. By the end we will try to discuss together whether we believe the observations have done a good job demonstrating that the impacts of climate change are real.
